Doog! thanks for lookin'.  The spare road wheel is a different color since I saw it as, the crew added it as a spare, so it hasn't be used yet, thus lack of weahter-age (new word, now patented and trade marked).  I'll lighten it a little.  I know you enjoy a tank that's had the heck beaten out of it, but I'd like to try a cleaner direction.  I did give the tank a brown (dark umber?) oil wash, and thought the details came out nicely, but it might need a second coat.

Ditto on what Doog said.
Also tie that spare road wheel down with a rope or something to make sure it's not just "floating" on the Sherman, otherwise the roadwheel would've fallen off during the exit from the landing craft and other big bumps.
Very nice otherwise, I like the last picture you can actually see a lot more details and it doesn't look so plain as the other ones do.

OK, Tacobuff--you're halfway there--now you need to work on a little bit of weathering! (Sorry--you know I'm a "weatherhead"! )

The tank and painting with airbrush looks very well done. I had to do a second-take on your spare wheel color there--quite a difference from the base coat--what's your thinking there? Just curious?

This would be a great tank to do some washes on--a black wash would do wonders for giving it some depth. With Tamiya paints, you won't even have to seal it. Just use some Black or Raw Umber oil paint, and mineral spirits.

On your tool heads, paint them blackish-gray and then drybrush with silver. The silvery color there that you're using is a bit stark.

Quite a nice job overall! 

 

thanks guys!  I tried to keep the weathering to a minimum, I wanted to make it look like it just rolled off the Landing craft.  I even tried using white pencil to simulate chalk and write something like 'LCV-141'.

Stick man, yes, I'm pleased with the paint, it came out quite nicely for a great scale effect.
