Glad you fired this GB up!  And I am already on the roster!   I was gonna do an M7 after the M40 but it looks like there are a few other participants building M7's.

Mike, I've been thinking about this and normally I'd love to jump in but I've got a pile of stuff left over from 2010 that I really, really need to finish.

Sounds like a good 'rule of thumb' definition to me.  Like you say, no reason to get into a pissin' match with people over the definition.  Broader is better...

OK, I'll take a look at things and see if I can justify entering this one.  I'd LOVE to do my Hummel, but it was not really in the build cycle yet.  Still, it might be fun to put it up at the top of the batting order...

Hans -- I'm keeping it simple, too many interpretations limit the scope. What a spat I had defining the scope for my Early Jets GB, with varying opinions on where the generation changes fell...! If one or two subjects that don't strictly belong find their way in, it's no biggie. The object is fun, after all!

bbrowniii -- yep, that's correct. AT has been done good service in the past, for instance "The Hunters" GB about two years ago, but self-propelled artillery hasn't been a focus in the period I've been a foum user, so SP guns are the go, and, as it was especially requested, the multi-tube rocket adjunct to conventional artillery too. Not to be too specific! :-)

I am tempted by this, but am not sure what my six month build schedule is looking like.  I've got three projects on the bench...  If I got them cleaned up, I could probably jump on this in the mid-spring time frame...

Now, as I read your guidelines, a vehicle like the Hummel would be in, but a Nashorn, since it was direct fire, primarily anti-tank, would not?

Let me stew on this for a day or two and I'll decide if I want in.  What's the badge going to be?

Aaronw -- not sure about AA and AT, we've had a number of specialist GBs on those themes. I'm thinking any self-propelled artillery system intended for point target and saturation bombardment, both tube and rocket, any era... In that sense the StuH would definitely quality, as would the Hummel (if I've got that right, trying to sort my Hornets from my Rhinos...!), as would any version of the Katyusha, the Sherman Caliope, the SWS mit PzW 42... Anything carrying a big gun or rocket battery for shelling targets!

SP anti-air and anti-tank as well? What about primarily direct fire SP howitzers like the M8 75mm, M4 105mm, Bishop and StuH?

Stik -- I don't see why not. I was thinking tube artillery, but rockets have been part of artillery since gunpowder was invented, so why not? So long as it's self-propelled, that's within the definition of the project, so that would open the door to the MLRS, any Katyusha variant, any vehicle mounting a Panzerwerfer, Sherman Caliope and such, even the Stuka zu Fuss.

Tempting, but it depends on my mood and such. A maybe, later the better.

I'll play along too.  I will give the AFV Club M40 Big Shot in 1/35 scale a go.  Either time frame would be fine with me.

I have the Dragon M7 I will be starting on early next year, so Jan. 1 to June 1 would be a good time frame for me. I am hoping the some aftermarket photo-etched set come out soon for this kit.

Will this be open to vehicles that fire rockets instead of shells? Wheeled,tracked,or halftacked?

Hi Mike, I might be interested in this GB just as while. I have Dragon's M7 Priest that I'm looking at back dating to an early British version for North Africa. I've been wanting to dive in to the priest but needed to finish a couple other builds first, but if you have a set timeframe I'm willing to jump on board.

So far I'm easing back into the hobby, but I think I could handle the Abrams GB and this one.  Besides, I already have some options for this one, including the Academy M7 Priest and Italeri's M109A6 Paladin kits.  So, count me as definitely interested!!

I remember this because it sounded great.  I am already committed to three ongoing GBs... if things go well with my current builds, I will be able to join very late in spring so later dates will work better for me.
