Pictures of my halftrack
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, January 23, 2004 7:56 PM
Here are some pictures of my Tamiya 1/35 scale U.S. M3A2 halftrack. I still have still have to weather a couple of figures and add the wheel. Any comments or suggestions would be great since i'm still 15 and have only been modeling for a few years. I may add some new pictures sometime soon. Note the bullet hole in the passenger window and the 2 souveneirs, a german bicycle and a nazi flag. A captain (note the two bars on his helmet) is conferring to his colleagues about the current situation.

Close Michael .... but I think you linked the thumbnails instead of the main picture. Just edit your post and you can correct that.

Sorry Michael, they are small, but from what I see, it looks to be a cool build. Hope to get bigger pics. Nice to see another "youthful" modeler.

First let's make 'em a bit bigger. BTW when you link to ron's gallery, link to the main picture file and not to the thumbnails. This means that the file name should be "DSCF0172.jpg" and not "DSCF0172.thumb.jpg".

Now on to your pics. Your works look good. Just need a little dullcote to take away those shine. Some weathering will also help you do away with the shine.

Good luck and keep posting.

ShermanFirefly,
Your halftrack looks real good. I do like the Nazi flag and the bullet hole and did notice some other fine details you did. On the down side is the eyes on your figures. Don't feel bad about them, figure painting has got to be one of the toughest things in modeling to get right. Keep up the good work.

Cool but only a few things GREATJOB!!!!! one the bike wouldn't have been painted camo! but a cool camo it is! Two the .50 Cal was chain fed and not belt fed so the white line should be gunmetal or black. cool figures and Great job on the tarps and flag that is some thing i am still tring to get right.!!!

Now I can see them .... have to take into consideration that my eyes are probably lder than yours when you post the pics.

The other members have already covered the critique parts of things. Have to agree, a little dirt and dust will go a long way with this build. Nice work on capturing the details.

Thanks for sharing Michael.

Great job. The souvaniers add a nice touch. Can't really add to anything that has'nt all ready been brought up. Keep up the good work and keep showing it to us.

Nice work Mike! And I can't add any suggestions either, except to say it looks like a nice clean build, and I like the souvenirs, too. Keep up the good work. Big Smile [:D]

Nice work Mike. I love the additions you made to the model, it tells a good story. You should have a go at putting it in a diorama. Find yourself some fine sand and get some static grass and pva wood glue and you can make a nice dirt road with grass on the sides. Maybe even some srubs or a rock wall if your feeling ambitious. Everyone hear is full of advice and techniques if you have any questions.
Keep up the good work, see ya, Wade

Looks god Mike! The critique has been covered so I'll ust say keep on building.
I really like the addition of the souvaniers - that's thinking outside the (kit) box.

Very nice Michael. Give the halftrack a good weathering job would make it look even better.
