I'm not impressed with that pathetic excuse for a so called business,  but we should all be aware that young impresionable people could be reading this stuff.

But then again, they most likely watch/read much, much worse.

I think everyone here who is upset with them, should send Photobucket a "stern letter" and let them know how many customers they are losing.  We're just "preaching to the choir" here.

I did, It used colorfull words and described a place for their CEO to crawl back to.

I felt very satisfied after sending it.

They don't care how many customers they lose. Facebook bought Photobucket and at $400 a year for each membership in photobucket they stand to make a large profet and at the same time free up all that space where billions of pictures are.

They WANT to lose as many customers as they possibly can.

Can't understand the draw. Flickr is so easy and even free now. Plus you can link to large size pictures which is something I never seem to be able to see on the other site.

Isn't Flickr a Yahoo service? If so, no thanks. They lost my business last year.

What do you use? Also if you don't mind what do you use for a "home page". I use Yahoo for the news and sports when I turn it on each time but the last year it's getting to the point it's 100% political and that is not something I want. I will pick and choose on that subject. So the ONLY reason I'm asking is I'm looking for another "home page" as well as a photo share site.

The political aspect, and their security breaches last year are why I left yahoo. That and wanting my phone number to access my mail. No thanks.

I have an old aol mail account and more recently a gmail account that I suppose you can call my home page. I have an outlook/MSN account as well, but they are nearly as political as yahoo, so that sits idle. I just switched to postimage.org for my image hosting over the weekend. But I may be trying out a few more sites as well as backing up images on a hard drive and the cloud after this fiasco.

That reminds me of going to the doc for a physical. You hear the snap of the rubber gloves and then the doc says, "roll over".

Huge discussion about this situation today on Britmodeller.  9 pages of posts ........

By trial and error some of us members of that forum discovered that you can post images from your personal OneDrive and Google Photos, but it doesn't seem to be entirely reliable or consistent.  If it can be made to work that would give PB the necessary reaming: we don't need you - at all.

Some people could post on that forum from OneDrive using the "embed" option, but for others of us - me included - that just embedded the URL.  In my case the links pointed to entirely the wrong directory/folder.

You can post from Google Photos on that forum by simply right-clicking and copying the image and pasting that into the message text.  But they don't seem to be consistently visible, or are only visible once then not again.

Now, whether either of those will work here is an entirely different question.  Different forum sites seem to handle image embedding differently.  Might be worth some experimenting, though.

Picture Trail and Shutterfy will work perfectly here. They are free and with unlimited storage.

PB's stated reason is that too much photo contnet on their site is cross-posted, and the bandwidth costs are too high.

They allege that they are only contacting parties with "extensive" cross posting and insist-er-recommending that they "convert" to the $399/year plan.

If you need to se a slavering, near-rabid, response to this, go over to ar15.com, where it's held to be a full on communist conspiracy run by aliens, the trilateral commission, and gun haters and jack-booted gun confiscators.  It would be comedic, were it not for the bad grammar and profanity.

Hi,
Not really sure what to say about this...

"It is for free, but then again you get what you pay for"

Have been a member of this forum since 2005 and have used the PB free service to share with you guys what I have been doing since day one.

It is a like someone just burnt down the library!

I am sure they have embeded something in the TOU that allows them to do this but come on :(

I am writing my letter of complaint to them and I hope you guys do to.
Minimum in my mind is that linking to older posts is made available again.

So where do we go from here?

Very best regards!

Johan
