20 years later....
Posted by ogreb on Friday, August 31, 2018 10:45 PM

First model I have completed in 20 years ( just started modeling again 3 months ago)

Got stuck big time for days on the mud. It's slowly coming back though

Here you go the Grau Hexen....

Suggestions for improving are gladly appreciated..remember I'm from the olden times.

Man if that’s what happens after a 20 year break, maybe I need to take one. Everything looks great! A very nice beat up weathered look. I really like the foliage camo, as that is something that was commonly done, but is not commonly modeled.

If you want 1/ 35 scale apples and potatoes....go to your local supermarket and buy a bag of mixed birdseed. Viola ! Don't even have to paint them.

Man if that’s what happens after a 29 year break, maybe I need to take one. Everything looks great! A very nice beat up weathered look. I really like the foliage camo, as that is something that was commonly done, but is not commonly modeled.

Yeah I don't understand it either. Especially German vehicles. Maybe they don't want to cover up their fancy paint jobs. Guess I can understand that.

I have no problem putting a forest on my tanks. My Stug is just going to look like a rolling bush with a pointy thing sticking out. Instead of where's Waldo..it will be where's the Stug ?  Going to use 500 to700 leaves on it.

Thanks everyone.

It's slowly coming back. I'm just glad I got it done, the final steps were aggravating because I couldn't remember how to do them.

Now I can get back to work on the diorama it sits on.

Pretty artistic, really nice work. I would like to see more.

A word of caution about using "edible" ingredients. The mice can and will eventually find it and do their thing.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
