Link & Length Tracks - Assembly,Installation, & Painting
Posted by Bill Clarke on Sunday, February 24, 2019 7:03 PM

Hello all,

I am getting to the stage with my Pz III Tauchpanzer (Dragon Kit) where I am ready to take on the link and length tracks.

What is the best way to tackle this?

Do I;

Tack on the wheels, return rollers, idler & Drive wheels, build the tracks around it, then take the wheels off and paint the track then refit to wheels and glue the whole assembly back on?

Glue the wheels on, build the track around them, then paint the track?

Can you provide answers in steps please.

Thanks in advance.

Bill.

Does Dragon use link and length or do they use 100 % Individual links called Magic Tracks.

If they are individual links ,I tack the sprockets,return rollers and wheels as you say.But I assemble the whole run minus a couple of links with Tamiya Extra Thin,allow 30 minutes,then flex the whole run around the wheels.Dry overnite,pull the whole run off,paint,weather and reattach,close the run and add the last couple of links  if needed.
