Mirror Models - yea or nay?
Posted by Armor_Aficionado on Thursday, March 28, 2019 5:49 AM

Hey folks, looking for some input regarding Mirror Models.  Never built or even seen one of their kits, so I'm wondering what's the general quality, how accurate are the details, how well engineered, any particular build difficulties, value for price, etc.   I've been looking for a CMP Ford 15-cwt truck, and while there are several CMP Chevy 15-cwt kits out there, Mirror is the only brand I can find that make the Ford.  Your input is greatly appreciated!

You are confusing them with some other company.  Mirror Models only makes WWII US trucks, trailers, bulldozers, and a couple WWII Soviet items.

From what I have read, their kits are very nice; well detailed and relatively easy to assemble.

Best way to think of Mirror Models are low-pressure injection moulded kits.

The earlier sprues have many heavy and larger connection points, relative to say Tamiya.

The plastic is a little brittle, but I recommend Trumpeter Razor Saw Tool Modeling Craft Model Kit DIY Accessories 09917, a few strokes & the parts fall off without shattering as they would if you used nippers.

Take your time as the instructions are a bit optimistic in places, but worth the effort.
