Incheon USMC M26 Pershing Weathering

1st Marine Tanks had been rushed to Pusan in late summer 1950 and in action there for several weeks before being pulled out for the Inchon Landings. The road network there was primitive, and there wasn’t much time (and probably facilites) for the usual pre cleaning before being loaded aboard the landing ships. The tanks would have been muddy/dusty depending upon weather immediately beforehand. As you can see from this photo, the fender racks for machine gun ammo cans had been added, the tracks are still full of mud/dirt. 

After a quick amount of research, the USMC M26's would be reconditioned and painted.  Many were mothballed due to the end of WW2, and not in running condition.  The Korea forces were in a rush to replace the M24 light tanks that couldn't compete with the NorK's T-34's.  Many M-26's were reclaimed gate guards accordinng to Wiki.
