After a quick amount of research, the USMC M26's would be reconditioned and painted. Many were mothballed due to the end of WW2, and not in running condition. The Korea forces were in a rush to replace the M24 light tanks that couldn't compete with the NorK's T-34's. Many M-26's were reclaimed gate guards accordinng to Wiki.
