StuG III Coaxial MG 34?

Seriously!  How hard is it to take a better, more detailed picture while people are shooting at you?  Sheesh... 

Whoever took that shot of the coaxial mount must have known it was a rare bird. While there are quite a few surviving Stugs, there are only a couple with this feature.

It's a shame that those war-time photographers didn't take modelers of the future into consideration while risking their lives taking pictures... It would have made our hobby so much easier.

Well, well, lookey what I found!

It is indeed the mount, the frontal photos of this vehicle show the mantlet hole. Far simpler than I imagined. Looks like a tough scratch-build...

That’s actually pretty darn good!  I did find this image that kinda shows where the MG sat in relation to the tube... so together, it’s a descent representation.  I think I can “imagine” the rest.

Could I interest you in a photo of the Holy Grail? Because that probably would be easier to find...

The closest thing I have ever seen is the photo on page 114 of Sturmgeschütz & it's variants, but the MG is not there and it doesn't appear to be much of the mount left either. About all it shows is the hole through the mantlet. It is comparable to this image of a late ausf G, an ex-Finnish vehicle;

You can see the hole, but nothing remains of the mount. The clamp would be similar to other coaxial mounts found in similar arrangements.
