I looked on Scalemates, where both kits have the instruction sheets posted. The Miniart kit has indie link tracks and most of the interior sides are fully detailed, even though no interior components like engine, cannon breeches, or crew stations are included. The Takom kit has link and length tracks, and no interior detail molded.

So basicly it is a higher parts count for Miniart due to the indie link tracks, and the more intricate two sided detail molding to account for the price difference.

Take a look on scalemates. They are both extensively previewed/ reviewed. Probably on Hyperscale too. Share what you find. I have the Academy kit. That one is decent, but needs indie link tracks.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Difference Between MiniArt's M3 Lee and Takom's ??
Posted by mic53mlb on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 7:01 PM

I've just got my latest copy of Squadron's Catalog/Flyer and I see they have the new MiniArt M3 Lee Late production and on sale $73.99 and then I see Takom's M3 Lee Late Prod. on sale $40.99, neither have photo etch but the MiniArt kit has markings for 8 tanks opposed to Takom's 4. Does anybody have any light to shed on this ?? I didn't hear of MiniArt's kit until seeing the catalog, there's like double the price here and I'm curios. I was going to purchase the Takom kit but I just saw this, has anybody built the Takom kit ?? Advise ?? Thanks
