I used to feel sorry for the guy in the helmet; everybody got a neat hat but him.

Academy released a 1/72 P-51C Red Tails with ground vehicle ( which is the jeep ).
Machine gun and mount are included in the kit. I bought this for the same reason above, Rat Patrol.
I made one back in 1967 using a Monogram jeep and their jerry cans. I even converted one of the figures into the man with the Aussie hat using some putty some paper card. I modified his arms to be firing the .50 cal gun. I was very proud of the job I did. My freind made a Rat Patrol using the Monogram "weisel". He thought it would be better. Kids. Very odd thinking. Man, Ive been doing models a Long time.
I see a Meyers Manx for the director!
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
PTConsultingNHR Jeep that could be built up into a Rat Patrol Jeep?
Not the scale you asked about, but the classic starting place would almost have to be the ancient Tamiya Jeep and trailer. Even has a figure is classic Rat Patrol ose hanging onto the M2 .50bmg.
That is, if you wer keen to replicated the vehicles in the tv show. Would need some tan paint, and some headgear changes for the personnel. The tv series did not get into great detail about loading the vehicles down with gear, either a bonus for modeling).
Now, if a person were of a mind to, they could get an M7 Priest and an M3 Half Track to portray the "German" vehicles--in the same tan paint. (Chopping the IDF troop exits might suggest a loswer-cost M3 half track.)
Hmm, now that I think about it, the tv series just used a ford jeep, which ought to be available in 1/72; might not be complicted to build up a 1/72 shooting set diorama with the various vehicles. That LRDG Chevy truck might be a good host to turn into a camera truck (in either 1/35 or 1/72).
I grew up with the 11" tal GI Joes, first one had blond painted hair, then later the bearded one. One of my last ones had Kung Fu grip and a bionic man rip off with clear arm that would spin a helicopter blade.
My pride and joy was the 8 wheeled command post that could disconnect from the rear portion into a 4x4 ATV. Battery operated searchlight and M16 rifles ready to defend against the Soviets.
I only had the 1/6 scale Hasbro one...
Now here is a nifty little set...
F is for FIRE, That burns down the whole town!
U is for URANIUM... BOMBS!
N is for NO SURVIVORS...

Rob Gronovius stikpusher There are a few 1/48 and 1/72 Willy’s Jeeps out there. You just need to source any machine guns and mounts for them. The ones I referenced were ones with .50 and .30 cal machine guns.

I was thinking more of the old Hasegawa 1/72 kit, and the Hasegawa and Tamiya 1/48 Jeep kits. I don’t think any of those have any MGs. Now the old Bandai 1/48 Jeep did, if I remember right...
stikpusher Of course there is the ancient Aurora kit... maybe Atlantis Models could re issue it...

Cute... Box art has 38A1's.
Might be easier to source guns and accessories in 1/35, also more choices in MB's.

Heller and Arifix (same kit) make a Jeep with a .30 cal machine gun option.

Hi.
When I was 6 to 8 ... there was a show called RAT PATROL.
Is there a 1:72 jeep - even 1:48 kit of a Willys Jeep that could be built up into a Rat Patrol Jeep?
Thank you,
Tim
