Weathering advice on rubber Sherman tracks

Could be wrong, but as far as I'm aware, the T66 tracks on the M4A3E8 were all metal and didn't have the rubber inner pad.

If you mean the rubberized vinyl track, I wash & dry them, them pin them to a longer board.

Use Badger StyNylRes/UMP/UK One Shot (same Thing) & Prime Black, then flip over & prime.

Don't use Enamel or Lacquer paints, this will degrade the vinyl & shorten the lifetime.

Then spray dark to light rust, highlight with pencil lead/dark steel colour where moving surfaces, (guide horns, sprocket holes) would meet, sparingly glance over with dull metal colour.

Tracks will rust up very quickly when standing.

Several paint ranges have Track/Rust/tyre black colours, go with what you like/can get hold of

Then add mud, dust, etc to taste, remembering that the tyre faces, & where they roll on the inside face of the track will be less dusty/muddy.

Use pastel chalk, or washes, I like Flory/Pro Modeller washes (non-reactive & ypou can wash them off if you don't like it.
