Searched the forums but didn't find much, what Eduard mesh size to cut your own grills, 1/48 Tiger 1 to be exact, seems like a good idea or am I way off in left field?
I built that tiger 1, but used a dedicated set from lions roar. But I have use this Eduard PE set on the 1/48 Tamiya type 10 https://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/details/edu/detail_edu_00034.shtml

If you look at pic with the entire tank, I think the mesh looks good. Here's how it looks done and painted.
