The M4 is not in use by the standard Army infantryman. It is issued to drivers, liason officers, and AFV crewmen instead of or in addition to the M9 9mm pistol and old .45 cal M3 Grease Gun (submachine gun).

Hello all. The only military wepeon I have ever had the plesure to fire was my M16-A2. But things are about to change. Were getting the M16-A4. It has the collapsable stock like the M4 Carbine and a removable carrying handle. However instead of shortening the barrel its been made better to increase our acuracy range beyond our 500 point target (800 area target) ranges. Thats why we did not go to the M4 like the army. We like the range.

Just thought for my first post I might clear some things up.......

"Had the pleasure of firing a mattel built (thats right folks)
canadian issue C-7 while on reserve"

That is a misconception made by a lot of people, it is in fact an urban legend. The C7 is made by Diemaco not Mattel and Wonderbra as is often told in the troop lines.

SFOR stands for Stabilization Force which took over after IFOR (Implementation Force) after the Dayton Accord.

Glad to see some posts I could get in on. Excellent forum!

'sup y'all, nice pic fitter, thats the dane model C7 eh,
Im in the Queens Own Yeomanry, D Sqdn.(TA)
Its an Armoured recce Sqdn, and we use the CVR(t) Sabre, as well as the Spartan, Sultan and The REME Det. uses Foden 6x6 and Samson recoverey vehicles. we used to have Samaritan 'meat wagons', but we now use the Wolf amulances.
Ive been told that the new L2A2 (new SA80) is improved over the first model, The government splashed out and got H&K to refit the whole rifle, some chromed parts too. The testing done on Saif Saree 2, invloved putting it through rigorous tests and it passed them all, although it all boils down to personal cleaning and maintenance.
My next armour projects will involve the recnt events in the gulf, did you see the add-ons for the challenger 2's?
I should have some good pics around september when my mates get back, from various regiments.

Hey, as for those markings: don't forget those spiffy blue helmets...

Heavy Magz... were you RM? You should have gone for The Regiment; they have chosen the C7, from what I've heard. The Danish have also selected the C7, this example being the C7A1 (flat top) with an ELCAN.

The designations can be confusing, but the C7 has full-auto as opposed to the US M-16A2 being fitted with the 3-rd burst fire control group. The C7's with the fixed carry handles have the earlier M-16A1 sights, but the C7A1's have the integral Weaver rail. Yeah, the US has the forward assist. Even that isn't much good when filled with sand. I heard the SA-80's have been much improved, but don't fall on one, right?

hey mate,

Had the pleasure of firing a mattel built (thats right folks)
canadian issue C-7 while on reserve (UK territorial army)training with my regiment in wainright, alberta 1998, unlike the US A2 model the canucks have endorsed full/semi auto, im not sure if the US use a forward assist, but i wish the SA80 had one!, anyways, ive been told that the C7 is the equivelent of an A3.
could be wrong but it was a PPCLI master corporal (instructor)that told me. also the canucks have one of the best battle scopes out there, the C79, this thing rocks mateys!!!!

i have modeled one in 35 using the SUSAT scope from an SA80 (dragon desert rats), with the A2 from the weapons set you mentioned, also, you can add realism by making patrol slings, the covers for the C79 scopes are green and cover the whole unit(often used until the weapon is readied, this is handy to cover the fact that you are using a SUSAT from an SA80!!!!
This was used with an italeri 1/35 LAV 25 converted to a Coyote recce vehicle, although i never got the correct wheels for itDisapprove [V], its in the junior ranks mess at The British Columbia Regiment's Junior Ranks Mess, Beatty st, Vancouver (the one with the sherman RAM out front!

The TAC markings used in the balkans are KFOR (early) and SFOR (late), the laterbeing the stabalization element. or is that the other way round...........Hmmmmmmmm

god speed my friend

You'd never get thirty C7's out of two of those Dragon kits; you'd be better off making a good one from a Tamiya M-16A1 and an M-16A2. Use the newer A2-style handguards on the earlier receiver... be sure to add an A2-style case deflector in the process. As I'm sure you know, the C7 used an A1-style upper receiver but with a cast-in brass deflector, and an A2 barrel and handguards. Also used was the A1 shoulder stock, IIRC.

I'd make one or two of these to make a mold and cast a bunch of them up.

UN vehicle tactical markings
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, April 17, 2003 11:43 AM
What (if any) tactical markings are UN vehicles allowed to carry?
I'm working on a Canadian convoy, and would like to know how to decal them. Also, i'm having a hard time finding those Dragon M16 kits; i need about thirty individual weapons for modifications into C7 assault rifles.
Does anybody out there have two sets i could buy for tweny bucks?
