ricky: i'm pretty happy about the way the M-1E1 turned out; now i've got to get a hookup for a digital camera so i can take some pics of my stuff. r u serious about the airbrush ? it would be so cool to have one, especially now that i'm on this armor binge.
thx for the encouragement!

Tigers, Tigers, Tigers (and Panthers)
PS......
While the fly-boys get to sleep in their nice, warm barracks, we tread heads must sleep with our armor (sometimes under it). That is the reason we take care of our own

Wow, I'm surprised at this much support thank you guys and girls it's fun to be on the dark side :-D.....
ShermanFreak: actually I have to Shermans under contruction, one is a early production one and the other one is a close support one, I just haven't finish them because I've been applying pretty much everything that I have learned from this forums into them.
Frostygirl: You are most certainly welcome, I'm glad that you finished your M1, I bet that it looks awesome, if you need an airbrush let me know I have one that I don't use at all, and I would be more than glad to provide it to another modeler.
And once again.... thank you all of you for your great support......

ricky:
i know exactly what u mean ! in the short time i've been modeling armor, i've done a Chieftain, Sheridan and Universal Carrier, M-1e1, and T 34 in 1/72 and am working on BRDM-3 and M41 walker bulldog in 1/35, Sherman M4 in 1/72 and Hetzer in 1/76... meanwhile, my model railroad lies dormant, and only the few pieces that i'd already started are getting any attention. maybe that's why they call it the dark side, 'cause it's soooo tempting !
btw, thx for the reply to my Abrams camo question way back... it looks pretty good in white, grey and green even if i had to hand paint it in hard edge camo instead of the soft pattern in GSM.

It's like a disease really.
When I stared modelling way way back in my college years, I was only interested in airplane models.
After a long long lay-off, I returned to the hobby late last year with an M4A4 and that was it. In less than a year and with about 24 kits done, 60% of those are armor kits. Still two more uncompleted kits. All I can think now is to buy more armor kits. I have almost forgotten about planes.
Am I in the "dark side" already?

You said it shermanfreak! Welcome rickyinc63 to the Dark Side indeed! Why is it that we tread-heads are despised for depicting scenes of the realities of war on the ground and fly-boys, by virtue of their lofty altitude, can distance themselves from the destruction their machines wrought, and the associated stigma? Just a rhetorical question, but I think it's true.

I'm disappointed in you Ricardo .... where's the Shermies ?
It's good that we have been able to lure you over to the dark side.
Hurry up and get a camera !!!!! We want pix.

hello guys and girls....
I just want to say that the only thing I used to build was planes but after I started reading this forum a while back and I built my first armor vehicle I haven't even looked towards my aircraft boxes.... so far I have built a M1A1, M41, M3, M113, M20, 5 HMMWV, a Land Rover ambulance, 2 deuce and a half, a mutt, a Hanomag half track, and a Panther.... I just wish that I had a digital camera to take pictures and post them.
I also want to thank all of you for so many useful tips....
Ricardo
