philo, I have not done that since the 60's.  From around 65 to 68 a bunch of us hacked up lots of 3in1 kits for slot track battle.  I saw some really nice slots built and some really ugly ones.  I had forgotten terms like sidewinder, jail door frame.  There has not been a slot track in my area since around 70.  That hobby cut deep into my model $$ and time!!!

Nothing ever fits……..and when it does, its the wrong scale.

To make mistakes is human.  To blame it on someone else shows management potential.

Gotta agree  with ROMMELKISTE;  come the think of it, sounds like we were doing the same thing at the same time Big Smile

But yeah, AMT, Revell, Monogram, maybe a vacuum formed 1/24 scale sedan,  Mustangs, Dodges, Ford Galaxie, Chevrolets, Pontiacs, were all possibles.

Some converted into police cruisers with blinking bubble gum lights .....well you got the idea.   Maybe not as fast as some on the track but hoops of fun on the rally nights.

Haaa, the smell of oil and ozone- good times.

I would have thought plastic kits to be a bit too heavy (every gram counts). Vac-formed petg would be better.
