London Bus
Posted by Don Stauffer on Saturday, October 4, 2014 9:32 AM

I have just started on my Revell London Bus.  What a marvelous kit with new molding technology.  The fit is about the best I have yet encountered, and the mold relief angles are miniscule!  Of course, I am in early stages- engine and seats, so I may run into problems later, but so far I am delighted. In spite of its large size, I don't think I will go through a lot of putty :-)

I've heard good things about this kit.  I'm looking forward to seeing your pics!

Cheers, LeeTree

I have come close to buying that kit more than once.  My wallet gripes at me when I start to make the purchase so I have yet to get one.  Show us some Pics Don, I would love to see that thing come together.

Nothing ever fits……..and when it does, its the wrong scale.

To make mistakes is human.  To blame it on someone else shows management potential.

Yep, the classic Routemaster double decker.  Okay, will do some WIP pix and post.  The manual is 28 pages and the color instructions call for 20 different colors!

That would be great, Don. I'd really enjoy seeing this built ......by you.

Those instructions sound wonderful. I miss the good instructions from all those years ago.

I also cannot wait to see this built. I bought a pass one day in London and rode around all day up on top. That was back in 2004 and I hope they have cleaned up the air. The amount of smog and gas fumes were horrible. The buses are neat and a great way to tour London. A side note: in Harrod's Department Store you have to pay to use the bathroom.

Don,

We have a couple of these busses running around the university where I work. If you find you need certain reference photos, drop me a line with what's needed.

I can get pretty up-close-and personal with these when they are at Fleet Services.

Airfix says it's re-releasing it's grand old WWI vintage Type B bus. Not up to the standards of the modern Revell one, but great fun.
