Looking for a flat-nose (cab over) truck kit
Posted by JayF on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 11:27 AM

Hello

You can blame the computer game "Euro Truck 2" all you want, but I love those big truck ! Stick out tongue

So like the title says :

I'm looking for a flat-nose (or cab over) European-style big truck kit (any scale but preferably in the 1/24 - 1/25 scale).

Volvo, Scania, Iveco, DAF or any other manufacturer would be great. Or an American one (I believe AMT does a Kenworth, how is it ?)

Any suggestions ?

I believe Revell Germany offers a number of truck kits, as well as Italieri .

I have not yet purchased the actual kits.

Hello!

Italeri has a great selection of european trucks, all in 1/24. Watch for accuracy though - many of the newer Volvos and Scanias have modern cabs put on old frames for cheapness - it has to be said this way... But there are a lot of them so you can be sure to find a nice one, just read the reviews first. Most Revell european 1/24 trucks are Italeri reboxes, so check this out, too. Good luck with your build and have a nice day

I have an Italeri - SCANIA and I think it's pretty nice .For a Model .  My Trucker friends really don't like the way they drive or ride . Much less the Power drops .

A tip on the multi piece cab assembly.Build it around the floor pan so it will be squared up when it comes time to install the floor pan.I've built the Italeri Iveco TurboStar 2 and it built up real nice.Have fun with the build.

I just bought one of their Shipping Container kits on sale at my LHS :

http://www.italeri.com/scheda.asp?idProdotto=2256&idCategoria=7&idSottocategoria=34

In box, it looks like a very nice kit and has a lot of parts for what would seem to be a simple box.Geeked

Sounds like a very good deal.
What kind of decals were in the kit?
After viewing the Italieri website, I am amazed at the variety of decals included with their truck kits.Surprise
