AMT 32 Chevrolet Confederate
Posted by Antwon on Thursday, August 20, 2015 6:26 AM

G'day folks,
Thought I'd  share one of my latest builds with you all. I bought a couple of these old AMT Connoisseur Classic kits with the intention of building a hot rod and a stock version of the same car. I decided to build the Stock version first, and after I saw a pic of a 1:1 in these colours, it was decided. This particular kit was extremely flashy and took ages just to clean up, but after that it was a pretty straight forward build. Almost OOB as well, I just did mods to the engine like a scratch built starter to replace the blob on the sprue, wiring, fuel lines and detail on the Generator. Oh and I had to make another steering tie rod and replace the gears they provide to make the steering work with a scratch built steering box.

Thanks for looking.

Antwon

Gorgeous paint finish on that car.Cool

When I saw the thread title- well- after all the talk about the tv Gen'l Lee I half expected to see a Confederate Battle Flag glued to the car........HmmWhistling

The garage setting with a display case full of model cars is an especially nice touch.Big Smile

I also look forward to a hot rod version.

Antwon;

    Now see here .You promised pictures of a model .Then you slip in ringer pictures of a restored Chevy in your Garage .With your collection in a case nearby .Who do you think you're fooling ? I have to say that is exactly what I thought at first .That's a beautiful job and a great Dio .    T.B.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the kind words.

T.B. That is exactly my intent, to produce a photo that fools the viewer into believing it is 1:1. I might post the diorama itself on the appropriate page so you get a better view.

Cheers

That is incredibly well done!  The shop is fantastic!

A scale model of a display full of scale models...  bet that gave the tweezers a workout.
