Very, very nice engine. Did you use Tamiya Smoke to bring out the details?

I used super thinned flat black tamiya  acrylic over model master enamel . Thanks again

Thank you midnightprowlet the 57 instructions are very vague a lot of information on engine assembly is left out well the 55 and 56 Chevy engines fixed that . I primed the body and painted the chassis differential and front sispenion planing color combo on this build . I'm glad you liked the 56.

yes a daily driver lol thank you modelcrazy. here is the engine in place with front and rear end in place. give mist coat of surf green to roof.

My wife and I were at Hobby Lobby tonight and I told her I was going to be in the "happy isle". I saw a 57 Bel Aire and thought of your kit. I would have grabbed it with the 40% coupon if I had the money.

You're really inspiring me to build another car.

Thank you M.C.  I still do my planes in stuff I have two that I'm masking . The trouble is the shine it's very addictive some times when I gloss coat planes for decals it pains me to spray clear flat over it . Its the mind set oh well ! It's a change . You should get this kit I'm really liking the 57 bel air .

Looking good!  I decided to "quick build" the 57 pro street Chevy from Revell while I am in the midst of painting the Lancaster bomber for the RAF group build...I didn't realize it, but I had previously started the car, and had the body all painted and decaled, I painted it in gm's ocean blue (I work in a bodyshop, so I have access to actual automotive paint formulas) , but never really started the build.....

Thank you justinryan215 I'm in the same boat with two planes waiting on the back burner. I'm working on interior now pics to follow mixing up metalic green for the body. I would like to see your 57 pics posted.

I love that light green as a two tone. Is the textue on the floorboard something you added or was that molded in?

thank you MC, the floor is molded like that what i did was spray the green then used clear flat.

started on painting the body.I need to do some touch up to the roof its been raining for 3 days on and off wellcome rainly season in so fla. some drying time for testors enamel and remask for the roof.

I know the 57 has tailfins but I didn't know they were a tall as your instructions show.

wheels in place so far so good

gave the roof 2 wet coats now some drying time before some clear coats.

Ah , Finally !

   I'll Bring my pickup over and we can load that for my 57 . Very realistic looking . Now don't drop any wrenches while installing that baby ! T.B.

 I have to ask , Please don't get upset with me . This is an awesome build going on here .

 Question . You have done what I see many modelers do . Do you realize that the outer ring of the wheel ( i/e) the steering wheel rim , itself ,  seems to big around in cross section .

 If I remember correctly my little missus could put her tiny hands fully around the wheel . I always thought in real life it was a little thin .

 So , I have to ask , did you thin it any ? I have seen wheels in awesome cars that would be fatter than the wheel in my " Pocket Rocket "  "Hamster " car . ( A Kia Soul . 6 Speed  Manual ". ) The wheel is fatter than the one on my old KIA van .

 I always thin the outer rim and horn ring till they are almost scale thickness . It makes the wheel , Especially after the work you've done on it . Stand out like a little jewel .

 That is my only Nit to Pick .   T.B.         P.S. I like the lustre you achieved on the paint , and your color choice . Plus that finished interior is Killer ! ! Please , please , please , put down carpet protectors to keep that carpet clean .

Thank you TB yes all you said is correct. now with my eyes I will end up breaking the steering wheel horn ring but I modify the engine the rest is box stock I'm glade you like the color I mixed it myself all testors 

Your paint job looks great, and I really like the colors.
