Beatnik Bandit 1:25 Scale by Revell

Hi;

 In reviewing this group of photos I noticed something . Is It Me or did REVELL definitely design both this and the Road Agent so when done as kits , the right front wheel was off the ground like frame torque from a jackrabbit start ?   LOL.LOL. My "Bandit" sits this way too , as does my " Tweetie Pie " , Weird ! T.B.

Your building skills are right up there with the best that I've ever seen. The only thing I saw was the Motorcraft decal on a small block Chevy but the casual observer would never notice.

Doing a online search should yield you much info on that. Car Modeler back in the 90's did a series on firing orders for many popular engines, but the same and probably even better info is easily found online. In spite of my criticisms your models are otherwise very well done and excellent craftsmanship.

Ha ha, thanks for pointing that out. Fair enough. 

I'm no engineer, I often go with form over substance (i.e. what I think looks kinda cool). I liked the idea of putting a bolt-shaped decal on the starter. But you have a point. 

You know, I really wish someone would do a simple wiring diagram for scale engine builds. I am not a mechanic, and frankly have no engineering knowledge. Would be super helpful!

First thing I noticed is the fan belt. It looks real, not a one piec molded plastic pullies plus belt. How in the world did you do that?

Actually very straightforward! My method is just to do the metal, and then paint the belot with Matt Black. et Voila! I wish I could say there was more magic than that!

So do I! How cool to see it built up, I only remember the box art. Oddly, don't recall building one.

      Gees , I remember that one . Having  " Fisher Body Modeling " stuffed into my head as a young man it struck a chord ! When I saw the real thing it looked wrong somehow .Then some time later I saw the  " Road Agent " both by Roth . Now the " Bandit " was front engined and the " Agent " was Corvair powered .

     Enough differences there . Didja ever notice one odd thing about these two ? Similiar profiles And both Bubble topped ? Now here's the rub . Neat looking vehicles .Don't try to drive the " Bandit " Too far , You'd get a sore back and neck because the top curves too early behind the driver's head !

    The " Agent's " top is somewhat taller but not by much . There was a time that anything was dared and much tried .Why couldn't the model companies do it right though ? 

 Case in point , The " Ala kart " By George Barris . Although I have negative personal feelings about him compared to his Brother he did a nice driveable Custom Show Rod . Why then did AMT drop the ball on the Hood length ?

 I do want to see you build some more of Roth's cars and then How about Dean Jeffries "Orange Hauler " ? A Monogram offering or Darryl Starbird's Custom " T " Bird  , The Predicta ", Bubble topped Custom , also by Monogram . I believe you would , like this , do them justice . Tanker - Builder

That came out great.  Motor looks fantastic.  I couldn't imagine driving that car in the hot southern California sunshine under that bubble!
