      Lookit at all them purty goodies! Now, lesee, Big tires and some inner fenders and raise it a scale 12 inches. A sand or levee buggy. Naw Just kidding!

I had some problems with the body paint and laid things aside till I figured how to deal with the paint.  Underway again and have the suspensions complete now,

It's already looking track worth and doesn't even have tires or a body yet ! I love how realistic your builds come together.

I finally got the engine hammered into the frame.  The left rear mounts on the frame did not match up with those on the engine mounting plate.  Worse, the oil pump did not clear some fig structual member (support for front suspension).  Went at that with a small bit in my Stlylus Dremel.  Scarred up bits of the frame and firewall but I am cleaning uo those areas now.

A really neat job!

Also in the queue is an IMCA modified, that is as you describe.  I have one of the new AMT re-issued modifieds with a stock frame.  I will  cut off rear of frame and build a tube extension, then put a scratch body on it- easy to do since body is all flat sheets.

?!? 1903 Rambler? I didn't see that build - did I? Regardless, you have to give us pictures of the completed car - it in the bye (the way) laws, I think

Nope don't shut it down Don. But I will say other than building a mid 1970's top fuel dragster I've never enjoyed building full tube framed cars personally. The modifieds I enjoyed building were back when part of the original chassis of an old coupe was retained. Congrats to you on a job well done thus far ! Your builds are always worth a look see.

Regardless, the work you do on your builds is always a treat for me to follow.

Don't stop Don.  Love this build - I'm just a bit jealous that I can't buy this kit!  Looking really good - looking forward to seeing those big tires on.  Those tube frames can be a bear to get lined up and you're nailing it.

I slacked off on the computer lately to get ready for MosquitoCon today. Well, the best laid plans of mice & men got shot to pieces. The show was today and my plans got shot down Thursday night. Sooooo, what I finished for today will wait for PennCon in September. Haven't been to a show in 3 years.

Finally got the tas tank in and plumbed.  Still ned to do some electrical wires.  Hope this area is at least somewhat visible.  The corrugated silver line is to the engine, large black hose will go to filler area, small black hose will go to vent fitting on rear panel.

BTW, no comments for a long time- should I stop WIP and just show finished car?

Okay, finally got the frame closed up.  A pin on the fire extenguisher with a dimple on the crossmember would have save a few hours of work.

Here is where she is now.

I've got to do some minor touchup in the cockpit, scratches and stuff from mounting small parts.  I am just about to attach the right frame piece.

Got the problem with postimage fixed.  I'll take a shot today of it's current state, and post this evening or tommorrow.

I am making progress, but cannot post images.  I even got a new email and tried to open a new account with that email,  Postiamage would not allow me to!

I used Eduard seat belts.  Engine is almost done.  Wiring the right side was hard because of all the junk on the right front.  Left side wiring should be much easier.

Masking the inner side panels (black) has been a difficult task.  I used every width of tamiya tape I had.  Each side of both side frames has to be masked with a similar pattern.

That's looking pretty sharp.  Plumbing all looks great.

Engine is almost complete.  Plug wiring will be tough- distributor so small.

 doing a bit of plumbing and low volt wiring too.

Boy, I am sure finding obstacles in proceding with this build.  Now both of my airbrushes are clogged and being very hard to clean.

For those who intend to build this kit, research for photos seem to indicate the team changed its livery very frequently.  I only found one photo that was close to what the kit shows, and even on that photo the front bumper is black and not orange.  That is the scheme I will go with.

Okay, got the rambler finished and got to work on the modified.  Started by spraying most of the sprues with Tamiya fine primer.

I cut out the grill area on the nose.  I have some nice fine brass mesh.  I cut a piece out and dipped it in brass-blackening solution.  I'll trim and fasten on inside of nose.

I'm noticing something strange with my camera or lighting setup,  When I zoom in on a obect the color changes from gray to tan!  That nose piece is the same gray as in the upper shot!

Will do.  I figured it is so rare a kit that a WIP was not called for.  Was only going to show the finished model. But  I decoded to also shoot one before the boldy is finished, to show the engine and drive components.  I should have some this weekend and will create a new thread for that.
