Normally I pass on these car posts.  I build primarily big rigs and commercial vehicles, but I owned a 1997 Blazer.  As a former employee of GM, I owned one of the first, at that time, new model Blazers.  My Blazer was the Blazer LT, 4 wheel drive with all of the options.  Nice model.

Great rescue, and if you're going to re-do an already built kit... what better choice than an unpainted, unstickered snap kit!  Great looking build.

Thanks,

John

Been a while since I posted on here due to, well, just forgetting to .

Anyway, here is the 1/20 Lindberg Chevy Blazer snap kit . I rescued this built up off ebay about 9 years ago . Luckily the person who built it hadn't painted a single piece on it, and hadn't even applied the stickers . So I was faced with a weird shade of maroony pinky purple plastic. It was however, missing its rear wiper.
So I took it to bits, started repainting it. In the mean time, the garage in my garden where I was building it, sprang a massive leak in the roof. We had a roofer who came over, and replaced the roof, and knocked he knocked a load of stuff off my bench onto the floor, . He stood on the front bumper. Luckily he hadn't kicked the bits around so managed to grab as much I could, and with a bit of putty, rebuilt the bumper.
We moved house about 5 months later and this got chucked in  a box, half painted.
8 years later (last week) I fished it out the box and couldn't remember how far I'd got with the painting . So I took a chance. Turned out I had painted and laquered the body, but not the bumpers or bonnet. So, I just cracked on with it and got it finished today.
I rebuilt a rear wiper from a pin used for cross stitching, and a bit of plastic.

Pro's of this kit. Mostly fits together very well. Nicely proportioned. Doesn't take an eternity to build .

Cons. I found the tab at the back of the chassis a bit of a pain to get into the slot on the body. The tail lights popped out a few times trying to get it in. 1/20 1997 Chevrolet Blazer ( Lindberg) by Modelmadness, on Flickr" target=""> 1/20 1997 Chevrolet Blazer ( Lindberg) by Modelmadness, on Flickr
