Look what I found....
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, July 15, 2004 12:40 AM
My dad found these models in some old boxes recently. They were from when I was a kid...

I must have done some chassis/engine work on this, but absolutely no body detail/painting at all. Other than an assembled engine and chassis, it's pretty much un-touched. I actually don't even remember this kit at all. It should be pretty fun to re-build it though...

And here is one of the first models I can ever remember building. I'm amazed it survived this long... Anyone know anything about this one?

Dad keeps telling me that there are more stored in boxes somewhere. These one's showed up when he was digging around for something else. Mom thinks most of the other ones were sold in a garage sale several years ago. I guess I'll just have to wait and see if any more turn up!!

when I was younger and built models my younger brother would get them off the shelf and stomp on them when he was mad at me... We're older now and have more respect and appreciation for each other, but back in the day..... (many, many... days ago)

Ahhh.... that brotherly love!!! ....lol...

Murry,
That T/A model is sweet,I just happen to see one on e-bay about 2 days ago....bidding was up to almost $80... so you definately got somthing there. Would like to see it built.. My first model was the '66(?) Malibu street machine, and I believe my first A/C was an F-14 .....been a couple of days though.

Really??!! Wow. I had no idea? Well, it's all mine now, and it will definitely get built. It may have to wait a while, but built it will be....

Ah nostalgia. It must have been quite exciting to get your hands on these, especially when it's completely unexpected. Smile [:)]

A few months back, I was at a model kit show here in Phoenix and I found a kit of AMT's "Vantasy," which was a model I built as a kid many years ago. I even added a scratchbuilt CB radio for it as well as out-of-scale carpet. I don't know whatever happened to my original Vantasy; probably knocked over by the cats. Anyway, I bought the Vantasy kit and I'm looking forward to building it, but I don't know if I'm going to re-create what I made when I was a kid or do something different, like perhaps a futuristic tornado chase vehicle.
