[B)] HELP WANTED: PAINT STRIPPING
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, June 16, 2003 1:21 AM
I have a tamiya Honda Civic kit that I have been tring to finish for almost a year now. PROBLEM: I made a painting error on the clear parts (head lights and the such). How do I strip them off. I just wanted to finish as clear light glass. Thanks.

Honestly, I'm not sure whether the oven cleaner technique would work on clear plastic... But why not? Failing that, you could always scrape off the paint (lightly!)and sand the clear part back to transparency (very fine sandpaper, with water, then toothpaste or car wax until you're happy with the part).

Try Simple Green or Brake fluid.

I would like to reply to the simple green. It works great on other plastic parts so i also think you should try it on the clear parts and post the results on this forum for all of us to see.. Thank you if you do
