Scratch building 1/35 scale door handles
Posted by mike91978 on Sunday, September 21, 2008 3:33 PM
I am building the Miniart French Cafe and the kit door handles need replaced.  Any ideas on how to scratch build some? I'm needing a door lever, not a round door knob.  Thanks in advance for any help.

Can you show us an example of what you need, or at least a verbal description of the shape?

Like these?

or these?

or maybe:

If so, I'd try flattening some solder and bending to shape for the top two, the bottom one could be made from tightly twisted fine electical wire and some solder .

I'm building ones like the second example. I didn't think of using solder.  I was able to make some out of .035 Tig welding wire.  I flattened and bent them in a bench vise. I'd take some pics, but they're so small, you wouldn't be able to see them well.  Thanks for the replies.
