HO scale grills

Plano Products or a company called Highliners make locomotive specific grills. If you're looking for generic screen/grill material, I've seen old Mr. Coffee screens used to good effect.

Not so easily obtained I know, but if you have access to automatic transmission filters, the internal filter in some is a micro mesh material that is metal , nylon or both.The scale is excellent for 1/72 and smaller.The ones you don't want use a felt filter.

If it's generic fine mesh screen you're looking for, try Utah Biodiesel Supply. They have 6" x 6" sample packs of stainless steel fine mesh screen in various sizes for about $7.
