1:50 PROPANE VAPORIZER
Posted by RI SCRATCH BUILDER on Monday, February 9, 2015 12:55 PM

Here is another model that I built this winter. Propane vaporizers are used by companies that do not have ready access to natural gas that they use in their manufacturing processes. I'm not sure how the process works but, I like the look of the machinery so I built it. The tank is made from a discarded aroma beads bottle and the bottoms of aluminum soda cans. By carefully trimming the aluminum, I was able to snap fit the parts together!! I made a simple fixture to make the pipe fittings. Here are some photos:

Here is the original

Here is the pipe fixture:

It's really sad when the only model tool you own is a box cutter.

Brilliant! I particularly like the control/electrical panels. So simple and so elegant. Well done.

Great build what scale is it? I don't think I see any Plastruct in that. Nice engineering......

The scale is 1:50 a little bit smaller than 1/4"=1' I use Evergreen styrene products. I find them easier to fabricate and assemble.

It's really sad when the only model tool you own is a box cutter.
