Need help on how to create Hitch
Posted by teejay on Friday, November 27, 2015 6:30 PM

I've gotten a 1/24 car trailer from Testor but needed to create a Hitch for a chevy 66 pickup diecast which I'm thinking of using. What's the best way to create one and what material did you used?

Hello!

It would definitely help, if you posted a photo of a 1:1 item you are trying to reproduce. As for myself - my favourite building materials are styrene (mostly plates) and copper (mostly wires - soldered) - and that's what I would probably use here.

Hope it helps - good luck with your build and have a nice day

I havent bothered to do the math to see what a 1:25 ball would be- I guess either 1/25 inch or 1/16 for a 1 and a half ball.  You might check to see what the diameter is on those push pins that have round balls. I suspect they are a bit too big.

The next thing to try is to go to michaels or hobby lobby or other craft store and look through their stock of beads (from the beading section).  Those things come in a lot of sizes, including balls.  Neat thing is, they even have chrome balls!  The rest of the hitch is just styrene strip stock.
