Thanks, it would be nice to be recognized, but honestly, I just want to make more people aware of its existence. I just think it is a fascinating structure.It is my most ambitious project to date.

More progress on the tower.. humming steadily along.

-Hello.. Been a while since I posted any progress. For once, I had the foresight to realize that , through repeated handling , the flak twin mount would become a casualty of progress, so I have started building a replacement set with turned aluminum barrels and photoetch..

    Between the tower exterior and the guns, I started fleshing out the crew spaces as well. So I started making bunks. Essentially, I took a hardwood block and made a template to form the wire mattress frame around and then found a suitable mesh to line it with. Have some scale chain and then will add it all to the tower interior along with comm equipment, lockers, air filtration etc..The build goes on....

thanks Steve.. I am currently in the process of rebuilding the flak 12.8cm with turned aluminum barrels and PE details. Will hopefully get more pics up soon.I know I haven't posted an update in awhile, but I am still working.. just nothing of any visual consequence yet. About to start scratchbuilding the interior eqipment.. stay tuned..

I'm sorry I haven't said so earlier, but this is a very cool project. Once I thought about something similar, but the entire twoer scaled out about 36" in diameter and 60" tall, which was too much for me.

 

I really like your approach.

Yes I wanted to build this, but in 1/35 it would be over 5ft tall and 4feet across, so the next best thing I could do is to build a quarter of the roof and add mirrors to both sides to hopefully create the illusion of the whole roof. It will have night lighting in the flak pit and working searchlights on the lower balcony for the light AA guns.Thanks for the kind words.
