Posted by John Leah on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 4:58 AM

Hi

Here is my recently completed RAF KC1 L1011 Kit in 1/144 scale - the model started as a solid resin kit which I modified to a touch down pose with flaps and slats deployed. Please enjoy her..

having started life as this..

Thank you for looking in

Very impressive.

Your skills are most evident

Next project why not take us along (in pictures) as you build? We (me anyway) would like to see how you create the projects ( OK so I can get better-there I said it )

That is a work of art to be sure, excellent combination with that base, really captures a sense of movement!

That base is really wild looking.  Looks kinda like it's blurring right by.  Like Subhuman1 said it gives a feeling of motion.  Really cool.  The Aircraft is exceptional as well!

I have enjoyed her!

Completely impressed by the work you put in this beauty!  And the runway complements the model perfectly!

That solid fuselage must be really heavy.  Doesnt that cause stress on the landing gear?

Thanks for the kind words. There is a mounting fix pillar running up fro the base into the fuselage belly which supports the kit leaving the resin undercarriage completely free of bearing the weight of the kit but gives the impression that the wheels are in full contact with the base - see below
