After fighting this model for more than a year; I have come to the finish line. I present to all of you a very rare model of the Ancient Aurora Jet Commando in 1/72 scale. With this model I have completed the last of the Aurora 1/72 scale civilian aircraft offerings and now have a full set of civilian aircraft in 1/72 scale.

I had to scrounge around and cobble together a fictitious marking scheme in order to finish this as the kit decals were beyond useless. After several days of finishing this up, here is the Aurora Jet Commando in 1/72 scale built strictly OOB:

That's all I have for now. Thanks for looking in, comments are welcome.

Thanks Allan! I never knew about it either until I saw it on sale at an IPMS Nationals, I looked it up and sure enough, it was 1/72 scale so I snapped it up. Been wanting this finished for some time, I finally have it done!

Thanks again for the great compliment!

Thanks Heepey. They are pretty rare; I hadn't heard of them either until I saw one of these kits.

Thanks Tankbuilder! Yeah, that's how she looks. Best of luck finding one; they are pretty tough to find. Also, ghet soem aftermarket decals if you do; the ones I had in my kit just fell apart, depsite several coats of liquid decal film. I hope you find onel I'd love to see it built!

Now I'm going to try and get a group shot of all my civilian aircraft (minus the airships, as they are too big to fit in the picture). I should be able to post here in a few weeks showing them all together.

Nice collection of builds. I have the Wright Flyer as well. my dad gave it to me when he decided not to mess with it. Although a historic aitcraft, never really interested me so it will relax in the closet and I'll just look at others builds. Your rigging job is excellent!

Very nice stuff! I've always like the small planes, and have thought about building some myself over the years.

Depending on what you like, and on how far you're willing to go, you might take a look at these guys. A 1/72 Cessna Bobcat (Sky King's pland)? A 1/72 Wright (or any of several other very early planes) with full framing? How about a 1/72 Boeing 747? Or a De Havilland Comet? http://www.aim72.co.uk/

I will warn you, though - they ain't cheap. Still, it's fun to look and dream.

Thanks KG! I do appreciate the compliment.

Steve, thanks for the link. Yeah, they are quite expensive, quite far out of my price range. Still, like you said; they are fun to look at and dream!
