Hasegawa 1/200 727-200 in Braniff Ultra Blue markings. WIP

Looking forward to this!  What color did you decide to use for the blue?

I just received Testers Artic Blue Metalic. It looks like an exact match. I was thinking of cutting out and lowering the flaps, but I'm just not that good at scratch building. Also thought about adding landing lights as well as anti collision lights and strobes, but I have so many things on my plate right now I'll do that on the next 727.

Well this is going fast. Here's where I am tonight.

The fit is fantastic. Typical Hasegawa kit.

That should be a pretty airplane when done.

Braniff, a great Fallen Flag. 727 was a great aircraft, like a Phantom II taking off times 150% noisy thing.

This is going to be one pretty 727. At first glance the Braniff livery seems simple enough. I didnt notice the light blue until you pointed that out.

That's okay, they'll usually pull the flaps up to prevent damage on the tarmac anyway.  With few exceptions, it's part of the flight check-list.  Some aircraft would 'relax' when the power was off, but if the pilot's worth is license, they get stowed until needed again.

Cool, thanks Gene. While this one will be hanging out on the apron, I would like to lower the flaps for one landing someday. I however do not have the skill, or the eyes, to do it on 1/200 scale. It would have to be at least 1/144 I think.

It's always nice to get advice from actual airline pilots. I used to own and fly a Cessna 150, that's a joke compared to what you guys do.

This is where I'm at so far. I have the light blue and metallic blue on, however the metallic blue blead through the mask. I'll need to touch that up before applying the stripes.
(The instructions are of the Tamiya P-51 I'm also working on)

That is a really nice color for a plane. Looking forward to its completion.
