I built this kit a few years ago and I thought I would throw up a few shots.
The 1/125th size really makes a difference. I don't think I put these up before.
I was on the tarmac at LAX in 2010 and saw a Qantas A380. I couldn't believe my eyes seeing it up close. So I had to build one. The Heller kit has nice rubber tires if you choose to have gear down, and also comes with this nice stand.
Tamiya white, MM gunship gray bottom, I think the blue rudder is Tamiya (something blue?) have to check my notes, final coat decals sealed with MM gloss laquer. My first commercial airliner. A steep learning curve. Lots of sanding. I left the fuselage sides glass out.
Nice job, for the lack of parts airliner kits can be challenging. Hope to see more airliners from you

I'd like to build a Virgin Atlantic 787-9, which I've flown on, but I understand I would need two kits to extend it to the "9" version.
I beleive Zvezda and Revvel/Germany have released a 787-9 1/144

The Revell and Zveda kits are 787-8's not 9's. They need a conversion kit to make them 9's.
On the Heller A380, any issues with the kit? I'd like to see one next to the 1/144 kit to see how much bigger it is. Some Amazon retailers have the kit for around $65.
Zvezda does have the -9 kit now. Here's a couple reviews.

Sorry for the late reply. There were no issues per se other than this was my first civil airliner build. So getting the halves as perfect as possible, and then a lot of sanding to get it as perfect as it could be. Like auto modeling there is no hiding any small screw ups with weathering in airliner modeling, as can take place in military modeling of any kind. The rudder did have to be bent back to 90 degrees though, which is not all that uncommon in airliner kits.
It is a very nice kit and the bigger scale really makes a difference. The tires are really nice rubber as well.
Thanks for the info on the 787-9, I will now have to buy one, and the Virgin Atlantic decals. I've flown on "Birthday Girl", which was their first 787. The wings really vector up while in flight.

Oshkosh 2009, Airbus displayed and flew the new 380. Good show, cross wind landing and other impressive banks, turns and climbs. It looked like a large building flying around. They made sure that us photographers got the shot!
Great job on the model, you did it justice. You probably should display it with some other teeny airliner for scale! lol.

True measurement is: Wingspan is 25-1/2" and the fuselage is 22-1/2" nose tip to tail tip.
You did a great job on that airliner! It's a fantastic build. Thank you for sharing that.
