That dreamliner from Zvezda is a beauty. The fit is almost perfect, at least for me. This is a must have to build.Yes

I agree completely. For the most part it took little more than a few passes with a sanding stick to eliminate seams. The fit of the wing to the fuselage is so good I haven't glued mine – taking it apart makes trasnsportation easier.Big Smile

Cheers,

Aaron

Just pre-ordered one from HobbyLinc; think I'll do a MID of the first flight take off with it. Yes

Zvezda is really treating us with some of the great airliner kits and they are getting better and better. First, there was IL-86 with engine blades that could have been better, then TU-154M which is great, 767 too and now Dreamliner with those amazing engines. The only problem that Zvezda has are decals. They are still not good enough.

American has ordered 25 firm with options for 50 more. They will be painted like the A300's were. All composite areas will be Boeing gray. It would be nice for them to do a silver. I would like them to change the fleet livery to one like the 777 Oneworld scheme. Touching up the stripes on the present scheme looks poor, especially close up. Since they seem to be switching to 767-3 and 757 service to Europe and South America, the 787-9 will be a good replacement. The 777's will do mostly the Asia routes. I'm sure the 787 will have the legs for that also.

Here's a video of the Dreamliner taking off for the first time:

Gents,

I've seen the kit now and I can report it looks as good in plastic as it did in the photos: Crisp, petit panel lines; beautifully engineered engines; fine landing gear legs. Can't wait to start building! Big Smile [:D] Look for a full review in an upcoming issue of FSM.

Cheers, Aaron

BondoMan,

It is what they get for trying to build it with scabs!

No kidding... photos in front of an electric fan should be interesting (ie: decal on the spinner)!

Really looking forward to getting my hands on one, or two of these!

Thanks for the link Frank. The instruction sheet is downloadable there also. I really like the look of the fan blades, single-piece intakes, and single-piece exhausts with the scalloped pattern.

 Bablefish translation on the site:

7 castings model are executed in Russia on the license of company Boeing. In its new airliner Of boeing of 787 Dreamliner the company Of boeing personified quite foremost developments in the region of aircraft construction. Because of the wide application of composite materials in the construction of aircraft it was possible to reach high fuel effectiveness and to increase comfort during the flight. In 20 years the company Of boeing plans to sell 3500 aircraft of this type.

Delta has several hundred orders but will never exercise them.  At least not until the -9 version is available.  The -8 is severely overweight and they found out it doesn't fit when they try to put it together, not unlike some of the kits we build!

That's what they get for using F.M. as a subcontractor!

I believe  American Airlines  has or will be ordering the 789 anyway.  They selected the GENex engine.  Unless I was asleep when I read it... I wonder if they will redo their livery or use some sorta metallic paint similar to NW?

Here's a nice gift for the holidays:

http://www.dragonmodelsusa.com/dmlusa/prodd.asp?pid=ZVE7008

If it's as nice as the 767, it should be a good build.

Cheers, Aaron
