Very nice build. I use to work for a guy her in South Africa how flew the Beech 18 that was modified for the "Amelia" film. I also got some flights in that one :-)

Brings back great memories!  Back in the early 70's, I hitched a ride on a customer's plane like that from their plant in NC to another in Arkansas.  The pilot called it "Leapin' Lena."

Gimme a pigfoot, and a bottle of beer...

Beech D-18
Posted by Don Stauffer on Friday, August 10, 2012 12:21 PM

Nice day for shooting photos here in Minnesota.  Got some better pics of the D-18 I finished a couple of weeks ago.  This is the Encore Beech D-18 (1:72 scale).  The kit supplied only decals for a military plane and one GB civil plane. I wanted a US civil plane, so did my own decals (and wrote an article for FSM on the process- don't know if they will buy it or not).  These pics are shot in direct sunlight against one of my regular airport photo backdrops.
