Yeah, nice work.  The turbine Otters look like they hit a time warp, the back just doesn't fit the front but they must be a great airplane.

I feel the same way about those Turbo Porters. I believe the Turbo Porter is a descendent of the Helio Courier, which I once saw demonstrated in the late 40s.  Like the Otter, it originally had a recip on nose.

Thanks guys for your comments.  I have to correct something in the original post, I stated that it was the Model Craft kit, it's not, it's the Hobby Craft kit.

Thanks again.

DHC-3 Turbine Otter

Being new to this forum I wanted to show you guys a sample of my work.  This is the Model Craft 1/48th scale DHC-3 Otter kit with some modifications.  The turbine nose and spinner were scratchbuilt using resin, cast from an RTV mold.  The masters were carved from balsa wood.  The pontoons were lengthened and cast in resin.  The wheels were added making the plane an amphibian.  The rigging was added for the steerable pontoon rudders and the interior was heavily modified.  The passenger seats were all scratchbuilt.
