1/10th scale Panzerman
Posted by captfue on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 5:00 PM

I've been away for awhile but I,m back. Here are some shots of my latest piece. It's a 1/10th scale German Panzer Sgt. I did the figure using leftover sprue, melted and shaped. It's painted in oils, but painting not a strong suite for. Hope you enjoy

That is pretty cool.

The way it is presented, it could almost be considered a sculptured relief, but essentially it's still a bust.

Do you have a photo of this before paints were applied?  To me it seems his cheeks have been extended too close to his mouth.  For a lot of the shadow lines, you are usually better off lightening the surrounding area, instead of applying a dark brown.

Historically, panzer troops would have the pink waffenfarbe around the shoulder straps as well.  The headphones might be a bit too thick padded, but that depends on your reference.

Considering the medium you worked with, it's still pretty amazing what you ended up with.

regards,

Jack

The ranking you have portrayed is correct.  The surrounding silver tress and single pip is the rank of  Feldwebel.

To be complete, there is a pink surrounding the outer edge of the shoulder boards.  This represents the panzer troops.
