1/43 "O" Scale Figures
Posted by LrdSatyr8 on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 12:32 PM

As many of you know I've been working on the DeAgostini Falcon, but I need some advice... I want to find some figures to put in this baby.  Other than printing up something, I was thinking that maybe there was hope in purchasing some readily available figures and modifying them to use on this.  Here's the scene I want to recapture...

However... all the sources I've seen so far have yeilded very little in the form of inspiration for modifying... but from the scene above would mean a total of 12 figures I would need to modify.

If anyone has any advice or suggestions, please let me know!  Thanks!

Look on eBay for figures made by Solido in that scale. A lot of military, some female, etc.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

West End Games did a line of 28mm Star Wars figures for their role-playing game- it's pretty close to 1/48th. I don't remember if they did a Lando Carrission figure or any of the other Cloud City inhabitants but they did do a couple of Han, Chewie, and Leia though. They've been out of production for over a decade, I see some on Ebay now but the prices are mostly insane.

Converting the Solido figures might be a better bet.

EDIT: Ok, strike half of that, they're not in the walking poses but these might be useful. I've ordered from Noble Knight Games before- good company:

Han, Chewie, and Leia

Lando, Lobot, and Leia with blaster

Same set as 1 but with C3PO, R2D2, and a Luke you could use elsewhere

Lotsa SW figures on their site, some overpriced but some pretty reasonable.

Thanks for that... those are a little on the small side thou... at 23/28mm would put it more at probably 1:65/70 scale... If my math is correct the size should be about 40-50mm in size to scale correctly.  I believe that's UK "O" scale if I'm not mistaken.  I know here in the states "O" scale is a bit smaller thou.

Ah ok, sorry. I own some of them and they're about 3cm/1inch tall. Guess the poses don't really work either. Embarrassed

No problem my friend... have been looking into perhaps some military figures that I could possibly modify myself don't have to be perfect, but the poses might help alot!

When I needed some very cheap figures to rework I had to result to searching on e-bay.  Populate the field with 1/43 (or 1/48) figures and see the list provided.  You can then also search world-wide which will open further items for you.

If you do not like e-bay you can visit some popular railroad sites.   They usually retail preiser figures in 1/43 and 1/48.

Here's a link to a UK company that makes 1/43 figures for railway modelers

http://www.omen-miniatures.com/

You can also go through this list. Look for and in O, 1/43 or 7mm, all names used for the same scale:

I think I finally figured out a better way of doing it... might as well just create my own in 3D then have them printed up.  No problem... at this way all I'll have to do is just chop the arms and legs off and reposition them that way.
