I painted with Alclad black base and chrome color. The handle is stock part with future over it. God bless you
Wow! That's stunning.

George Lewis:
Nice work !
I have that kit.; didn't want the "engraving" so I've been filling in with Squadron Green stuff.
As the cylinder is in three pieces, I still need to cut and fit tubes so the cylinder appears to have been bored out to accept .45 LC cartridges.
I really like the "bluing" result from using Alclad.
Thank you, Greg
Thank you, good luck with your work.
Great! Really looks authentic--something J.B. Books would carry. I didn't know they made these anymore.
They don't. Like this one, they can be made to look too real. Not a good thing for so many reasons.
Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.
Regarding the old Pyro model:
I own that old Pyro 45 Colt kit and can assure you the kit does not fall together automatically into a realistic looking replica.
The cylinder ( holds ammunition on a real revolver ) , composed of three very thin pieces of plastic, is obviously hollow even after assembly.
A lot of hard work is necessary to bring it up to the appearance shown in the photos in this thread.
No one harboring bad thoughts is going to go through that amount of hard work when they can spray paint a water pistol black.
As a side note:
The Chicago MMSI show had a hand carved pistol on display in the contest.
Excellent wood carving and looked very real.
I would be very surprised if it was created for a nefarious purpose.
Thank you again, for the kind words
Is that an old kit? I had one similar in thw 80's.
Sry for the delay, this kit came out in fifties or sixties, it has been released a number of times.
DogTailRed2 Is that an old kit? I had one similar in thw 80's.
Revell reissued these kits in the mid 1980s. I had the Revell Colt Navy Revolver. A very cool kit.
Awesome work on this pistol, I have a Pyro Kentucky rifle I bought in the 60's still in the box unbuilt I'm
waiting for someone to show what they did to make their Kentucky rifle look real, anyone here built this ? would love to see some photos, thanks. Karl
thank you, Sir
