Special Forces patches?
Posted by jtrace214 on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 12:22 PM

Does any company make U.S. Special Forces patches in 1/35th scale? Archer seems to have just WW II items I'm looking for Vietnam as I'm working on Bravo 6's Special Forces officer in Vietnam (John Wayne)

Thanks,

John

There is a company that makes current stuff of US uniform patches in 1/35 decals- rank, skill badges, unit patches, wings, tabs, etc... but it is all mostly subdued. In "The Green Berets", they had the full color shoulder patches.

F is for FIRE, That burns down the whole town!

U is for URANIUM... BOMBS!

N is for NO SURVIVORS...

Verlinden Productions No. 383 US Uniform Badges WWII-1988 includes several subdued and nonsubdued unit patches.

Also Archer has a very nice selection, I see some of the airborne ones, but no SF.

Make your own.

Find an image of the patch you want, copy it and paste it into Word. Resize it as needed.

You can either print it on white inkjet decal paper (seal the image after the inks dry) and apply like a decal or right onto white paper to be applied with thinned white glue. Again, best to seal with microScale Decal Saver Film.

When printing, set your printer to the highest resolution by going to File/Print/Properties/Print Qualities. If using the more current Word iterations, go to the Office Button (upper left)  the Print/Print/Properties/Print Qualities.

Even modest printers will allow you to see detail in 1/35.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.
