I didn't find any figures on squadron sadly, But I found those ones while just searching the web with google for about 1 hour:

This guy would do the job, but he has that yellow live jacket (?) that Maj. Knisley doesn't wear on any picture. I'd need to replace the head btw...

Here is another figure that I like a bit better personally:

The right face has kinda the right shape and has the right gear on as well, but he's missing the parachute and there is that live jacket again...

The last figure is the best one IMO. He has the cold weather gear on, but his overall apperance is closer to the photo than the other two figures. Only problem: He is seated inside the aircraft....

So what do you think? Which one is the best figure for our friend Clyde?

Is the gear that important? I could find only 2 pics of Clyde with his jug...

I got a set of 1/48 "Usaaf Pilots and Ground Personnel" (1941 - 1945) ICM kit #48083 for a P-47 I am working on for a friend who flew them in the PTO out of New Guinea. They have good detail. There are 5 figures. 2 mech., 1 officer, 1 pilot standing with right hand out as if showing maneuver or hand on canopy rail entering pit. The other pilot is sitting. I got them from Squadron. Try there on line to see if they have the ones you need. If not, give them a call. I'm sure that they can help with 1/72 and 1/32. Hope this helps.

USAAF pilot figures?
Posted by SchattenSpartan on Monday, May 27, 2013 11:21 AM

Hi folks! I am looking for some figures for my next arcraft projects...

I'd need a 1/48 pilot for my airacobra (Eduard kit) that I can actually put in the aircraft (no standing figure!). I want to display it in the air, shortly after take-off with a short part of an airstrip on the base. The Cobra will be a MTO bird. I haven't found any figure that fits my needs, so I hope you can help me out on this.

The second figure needed is a pilot figure in 1/32th scale. It should be a USAAF pilot in the ETO. I would prefer a figure climbing into the cockpit of an aircraft or standing on its wing, but a pilot standing next to his aircraft would be ok as well. I just need a fitting figure to display the immense size of the P-47 properly.

It would be nice to get my hands on a head for the 1/32 figure with a face similar to that guy (Maj. Clyde V. Knisley):

I hope to get some answers from you.

Cheers, Clemens
