Did the 116th have Jagdpanthers? Weren't those in seperate heavy Jagd Panzer battalions? But that aside, wouldnt the crew in that unit be wearing the standard Jagdpanzer crew Army uniforms?

Well the verdammt tablet has crapped out on me twice as I type my reply here... hopefully this time it will take...

Yes, late war Heer uniforms were hardly uniform. New uniforms were introduced, older uniforms were still in service, winter and summer types, etc. But standard uniforms are a safe bet.

Nope, no more jumping for me on Uncle Sams dime. I popped smoke in 2007 after 24 years of Active and Guard service. Nowadays all my spare change supports this hobby/habit, but one day when my finances improve and perhaps after I retire from my day job in a few years I will try free fall... and not tandem...

Thanks ,& mostly for your 24 years service,Stikpusher.god bless you,as I couldn't have hung out in the Corps for That long. While I did love most of it,the non-tactical time was too much monotony. But the commeraderie, & loyalty among my bro's was something I've never been able to find again, except with a short list of old friends. That's one of the reasons we model,I think. To bring those memories, good & bad. Take care. keith r.

Well the Guard had the advantage of being mostly the camaraderie and fun field time (at least in the units I was in) and minimal garrison/non tactical BS. That made it far easier to keep re enlisting. And hey, where else re they gonna pay you to fire automatic weapons, parachute out of perfectly good aircraft in the middle of the and send you to some land you most likely can not afford to go to on your own dime. but yes the modeling does bring back the memories of comrades living and departed, as well as pay tribute to those we never knew, but were there before us or have stepped up to fill our slot after we left...

Thanks for showing up, signing on the line, and putting on the uniform and putting your own hide on the line...

Guy, your words spoke volumes [ Maybe you should write a book about the ups & downs of service].Well put & completely true. Been an honor chatting. Now, back to the monster of a dio [ which is I primarily what I do] about the Debecca Pass in AFG. It's based on a book ,"Roughneck Nine-One" in which a very few Spec-Ops took on & suceeded at destroying an overwhelming Tank Bn. withe one "Warpig"[ heavily modified L-1078, but mostly because of the then new Javelin shoulder fired missles]. .The real work in it is converting Trumpeteer's L-1078 to the Warpig is  with Pro-Art Models outta Belgium has all the neccesary stuff.Mostly the front cab chop, sides on bed, 50 cal pedestal, side mount GPMG,but worst [as in $$$] all the Commo gear.Next add the resin Spec. Op's figures of only 4 .I kid you not,I bet I have over 200$ in just the kit, conversions & figures,I'm sure  more.Thank God I'm retired, since my time is free. This Dio , a "Panzerwerks" Dio  & one from the Hurtgen forest are all for the next local contest. But, again, that's not why I do it.It all helps me sleep & I know you understand that eye strain & late nights help the common problem. My e-mail is in my profile, Stikpusher,if ya ever wanna B.S. Plus I'd like to see your work.  keith r.

Sounds good to me there Keith. I have plenty of work posted on here in the forums. I build pretty much anything military (go figure). My most recent completions being a 1/48 TBD at Coral Sea and a 1/35 T26 Pershing tank from the Remagen Bridge capture in 1945. Both are here in the forums, and I am currently working on a Tiger I build.I think I recall the story that you are making the diorama on, wasnt that the SF guys from 10th Group who were working with the Kurds in '03? do you have pics of those posted here? I read their story many years back and love that type of thing. I sent you a PM with my email.
