Octaman.

I finally got around to build this 1/8 scale kit from MMR hobbies of the Octaman, I saw this movie years ago and saw it for sale so I bought this turkey it's so bad my dog left the room shortly after my wife did ......anyhoo the kit is resin and assembled as any other resin model pinning the arms using Apoxie sculpt to fill in any gaps. using acrylic paints I decided to use artistic license to bring more character to the bland creature as in the movie. adding Pledge floor finish to give it that wet look and some seaweed to finish the creature. the base was covered with Elmer's white glue and water then yellow Hermit Crab sand was sprinkled on the base, after that dried a fine mist spray of white glue and water was used to secure the sand, the small octopus was also coated with Pledge. I saw this model showcased on the web from Monster Model Review after seeing this model I decided to get one and it was a fun build.unlike the movie my wife likes the model, no reaction from the dog LOL. comments welcome.   Karl

OMG that's awesome!!! Never seen the movie but I've heard it's horrible (not in a good way)! I've had people consider me strange for some of the movies I watch too!

I had no idea someone made a kit of this! I want a figure of the Portuguese Man O' War man from 'Sting of Death' now!

Gamera, thank you, this kit was a blast to build kind of a goofy movie that's for sure. I never herd of the

Portuguese Man of War man or that movie Sting of Death got to check that out.   Karl

Thanks for sharing him with us, I love stuff like this!

'Sting of Death' was an awful (but in a fun way) movie made back in Florida back in the '60s. The monster is a guy in a wetsuit draped with plastic seaweed wearing a plastic garbage bag on his head to make him look like a jellyfish! The jellyfish in the movie though are actually Portuguese Men O'War so I use that term. I'll warn you the 'Jilli-jalli-jellyfish' song Neil Sadaka performs for the movie gets in your head and it take weeks to get rid of it!

Checking out the " creature "  from Sting of Death looks like it could be made using that U.S. Navy Seal diver from Glencoe models, with a little plastic bag over his head and some seaweed and stretched spruce replicating the stingers might be a very good likeness of the creature.  Karl
