I wanted to get a set of ither french soldiers or tank crewmen (preferably tank crewmen) to put into my next diorama. I am unable to find modern french figures however. does anybody have any knowledge on where to find such figures? or could i just get U.S figs and paint the french flag on them?

I can't say I have ever come across modern French figures, especially in plastic. There may be some obscure resin sets out there, its just finding them. I assume you are looking for 35th scale.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

If anyone made French military figures in 1/35...it would have been Heller.

Dunno if figures are still made, however.

ADV/Azimut does several in resin. Dragon did a set of Desert Storm French infantry in injection molded, and Academy has a set of French Foreign Legion figure set that covers from Indo China/Algeria until the more recent times/places such as Chad and Djibouti.
