I have never seen either of these brands in Germany. I mostly use UHU and Patex as glue brands.

Loctite makes one that comes in an applicator bottle that has squeeze triggers on each side. I like it, its pretty sttff gel. Takes a little while to set, like a couple of minutes.

Zap-a-gap in the green label is my old go-to. It's a little more runny, like syrup, but sets in less than a minute.

That could work. But accelerators leave residue like a salt. Try using gel superglue, and also I move the assembly around to make the gluing surfaces as level as possible. Good thing you weren't holding old Heinz by his leg!

I had a small problem attaching the ammo paunches. I painted them before attaching them to the figure with superglue but the superglue was a bit to runny and crept down the trousers. Is this something that can be avoided by using an accelerator ?

I was going for that look but I was afraid of destroying the decals. That is why I used the chipping on the helmet.

that may, sadly,be true.....however at the figures stage of the war,the SS wouldnt have any markings on their helmets,or said helmets would show signs of their being scratched off......I owned a few original SS helmets in my youth, only 1 had a decal visible, the runes, not the nazi insignia

I know but here in Germany the SS symbols are outlawed and Tamiya removed them from the Decal sheet.

So I have just finished this build of a larger scale figure. This is really the first time I am not totaly embarrassed by the face and the skin. I have used the Vallejo SS Cameo set for the cloths, AK interactive face set and the AK interactive leather and buckelts set. The metal of the helmet is Alclad2 steel as a base with an acrylic layer which was then removed as weathering via the hairspray method. The same method was used for the hand grenade head and the gas mask carrier. The wood on the spade and the hand grenade handle are a base layer of Tamiya Deck Tan and a wash of Burned Umber oil paint thinned down.

Opinions please. thank you.
