Hello!

I use sprue melted down with lacquer thinner for putty, and I have observed that it cures gradually - that means it forms a skin of growing thickness and remains soft under that. I imagine that it offers an advantage in carving, when you try to show wrinkles and folds, pose the limbs and so on. Then you leave the model overnight and then it gets rock hard - you could carve some tiny detail in that or sand it smooth - so I believe it could work, but I'd sure would like to know some detail here!

Have a nice day

Very cool, great job on his face!

Seems like they'd be a whole universe of easier mediums to use than sprue but hey I can't argue with your results! Yes

captfue - vary nice work, as usual! I would also like to know how exactly do you do it. I suppose you melt the sprue with some solvent (acetone, lacquer thinner) rather than heat, right?

Thanks in advance for the info and have a nice day

Do you mean to tell us you have completely sculpted this figure from scratch using scraps of melted sprue??!

What scale is this?
