Price is at least down to low 3 digit.  I imagine sending some photos of a person same height as your uncle, and sitting in the jeep - if u still have it- would help, and of course, some actual photos of your uncle.

FJS: I know very little about the 3D printing Jack brought up but as for what SP commented on it's just a matter of mixing and matching body parts, arms, etc to get what you want Frankenstein style. Here's a Jeep I did a few years ago, the driver is the figure that came with the kit, the MP in the back is a mixture of Dragon and Tamiya parts and the South Korean translator riding shotgun is the same with a Hornet East Asian head . 

Did you want your uncle in uniform or civilian clothes? If the former you might just find a good head to match him and add it to a Frankenstein body. Or you might be able to 3D print the head and then add it to the body. If you printed the whole body I'm not sure how you'd get it to fit the Jeep but Jack might have a good idea there. And then of course you'd have to convert the Jeep to right wheel drive but that shouldn't be very hard. For civilian clothes you might be able to convert a military figure or as already brought up find a railroad figure that would work.

Hay Jack. Spot on! I would like to get a pretty good likeness. And just fixing some communication faults, It is my uncle that I am modelling not my father. Dad is still live and well. I take responsibility for that mix up, i should have just called him uncle. All G.

The idea of 3D printing sounds good, do you know weather I would need to make a 3D model of his whole body, or just picturs?

Could be wrong, but it almost sounds like you want a figure that not only sits properly in a jeep, but also resembles the likeness of your father?

Another avenue could possibly be 3D printing, which probably would be easier to create his portrait while on a computer screen, and then simply scale down for printing.   I've no idea though where to start looking for hiring someone's service like this.

Ok, Hornet, Verlinden, and Andrea make “character“ heads that will work for that sort of thing. Then it’s just a matter of finding a figure in pose and clothing. Another figure source you should look into is Preisser. They are oriented towards railroad modelers and make lots of civilian figures in various scales, including 1/35.

Unfortunately when he was young he lost sight in one of his eyes, therefore was ineligible for enrolment. even though he realy wanted to be involved. Somehow he got his hands on a left hand drive jeep, and with the knowlege he aquierd thru being a mechanic for a large porshen of his life, he converted it to a right hand drive. This was the closest to driving a proper military vehicle he got. He took it fishing, camping, and everywhere else. He always loved driving his jeep, and i thought it would be a good way to depict him.

I havent seen the hornet heads befor.I just looked up the hornet heads, and that may do the job with a pre existing figure. Like you said. I have trawled the internet top to bottom, and bottom to top, looking for a figure that looks like him, but was unsuccessful. this might work though. I couldn't finde the head that looked exactly like I wanted it to in the hornet catalogue, but I am sure I can adapt one of the heads to look similar to what he did.

Ok, I see where youre going with this now. Was your pops in the military, and is this how you plan to depict him? If so, for what country, and it what timeframe? There are several 1/35 Jeep driver figures out there. You mentioned right hand drive, so that tells me it’s not a US service Jeep. 

With one of the various figures out there, and a Hornet head, you can easily work on a customized figure modified from an existing figure. Having the option of a standing figure instead of a seated driver widens the choice field for base figures.

My plan is to replicate my pop's jeep. I am building tamiyas 1/35 jeep, there is a fare bit of work to do on it, for instance, converting the vehicle to a right hand drive. I was thinking it would be good to have a small figur represent him in the jeep. Although I, at this stage, am not sure if i will put the figure in the jeep, I would still like to Know if I can get one done.

Umm................I had never heard of them befor, and assumed they were... well, not so expensive. thanks for the heads up! I am looking more for a hobbiest how has more experience in figure modeling than me, and is willing to do a favore.

Consider for a moment that Rosengrant is an award winning special effects artist with associations with ILM and Stan Winston studios. He has never done much in 1/35, but many of us collected his 120 - 200mm sculpts back when Warriors Scale Models was still in business.Horan has been regarded as a grand master in the field since the 1970s, but his commission work has been reserved for a handful of figure companies and museums.

Odds are good that IF your project sparks their interests and they decide to break with their traditional ways of conducting business to lend you a hand, you will be paying commission fees which would likely be in the range of a few thousands dollars. These gentlemen are not ordinary hobbyists and you can expect to pay handsomely for their skills.

Most of us mere mortals just buy Bill Horan's books and follow his advice on sculpting and converting our own figures. 

Just curious, but what are you trying to model in a figure? There are so many out there, that it is possible a suitable one exists as a starting point. And more are introduced monthly.

John Rozengrant or Bill Horan are the best - museum quality modelers.
