stikpusher Yes, Vallejo paints ofter have both RAL and FS code numbers on the label in addition to their Vallejo stock number. RAL is used in Europe, but from what I’ve read, the current RAL color charts are not identical to the RAL system in use during WWII.

I didn’t really realize it, i started noticing it more when i bought Vallejo paints that they started having the company’s number and then in parenthesis the RAL number coding as well.
There are many numbering systems for colors, depending upon nationality and era. The current system in use by the US in Federal Standard, which have five digit identification numbers, so if you see FS 12345, it is identified in the US FS system. Depending upon your preferred modeling genres, you may see many of these numbers repeatedly, and memorize them accordingly.
Oh ive never heard of the numbering they had for colors. But thank you for this!
Federal standard color 34092. In WWII it was called medium green 42, it’s the same color used in a lot of late Cold War USAF wrap around schemes. I don’t recall it’s ANA number off the top of my head.
stikpusher I‘d suggest a very light green base color, something like Sky or a bit darker for the base. Then Interior Green and darker green like 34092 for the two mid colors. Not sure on the darkest color.

What colors numbers are you referencing with 34092? That does sound better though working from light to dark, would probably help bring it all the colors that way!
Yes, definitely work from light to dark.
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
stikpusher That looks closer to one of the late Soviet camo patterns, compared to any German patterns. This is the actual pattern.

This is the actual pattern.
what would your recommendation be for painting/ colors then? A base coat of the autumn uniform, then adding the light brown and dark brown ?
How would i paint these figures (link attached) , I’m not quite sure what kind of camouflage they are wearing. It almost looks like the camo colors that you’d see on the German autumn camo but not in a pea dot pattern?
