Thanks for the guide muzzleflash88 and rebeleenactor. I am from Malaysia which is between Thailand and Singapore. One interesting point is that my country's flag is almost the same as yours i.e with the red and white stripes and blue quarter. I follow the American History from the days of the war of '76 to the war with the plains Indians and try not to miss films about it whether fact or fiction like "Son of the morning Star", "Johnny Shiloh", "The Patriot", "Cold Mountain", "The Blue and the Gray" just to name a few.

If the flag has two different sides, definetly find a picture of a calvary flag used by the yanks. then just follow the process that ajlafleche described.

What Country do you live in? I find it interesting that you would choose to model the United State's Civil War if you live outside America.

Have you tried to search online as well? You may find information by searching for a specific battlefield or location and not just searching for a specific unit or regiment. For example... a search of Gettysburgh or Antietam would give a lot of results, where searching for 7th cavalry would not give a lot of results.

Here's a few links that may help you:

Thanks for the tip. Will replace it with something stiff as figured the staff is too bendy and the paint will flake off. As for which calvary, unlikely is the 7th Calvary. The box art just have a general description as the subject above and added "Blue Jackets". Don't think I can get the book in my country as books on the Civil War are limited and is always in general. Correct me if I am wrong, don't think the flag is correct as one side shows the Stars and Stripes with the Stars in a circular form and the other side is with the eagle emblem.

Civil War expert hereWink [;)]Tongue [:P] What unit cavalry is it? do you know? Wasn't able to find anything in my books. You might try Flags of the Civil War, a book that you'll probably find your answer in. Eagle emblem sounds like infantry to me. not sure though.

For better results, remove the plastic flag and the staff., way over scale to begin with. Find an image of the flag you want online and download it (or scan one). Bring the image into your wiord program as you would clip art. Size to what you need and copy it next ton itself. Now print it at the highest resolution you can. (file/print/pinter/properties) Now let the ink dry thouroughly. When it's fully dry, coat it with microscale decal film. Allow this to dry and cut out the flag. Apply thinned white glue to the inside and carefully fold it over. The paper wil soften from the glue application. You can now flod it over thin brass rod and add some folds. Allow this to dry and you'll have a nice realistic looking flag. Paint the staff wood brown and drill a hole through the standard bearer's hand.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

Blush [:I] Hi there. Need some help from anyone out there. I'd be much appreciated if you do have the painting guide for the flag with the eagle emblem in the U.S. Civil War Union Calvary by Italerei.

Thanks in advance.
